What is on the Agenda?
Meetings are open to the public and held in one of the library meeting rooms on the 4th Tuesday of the month at 5:00 p.m. Latest Agenda:
The Friends of the Pekin Public Library is a volunteer-run non-profit organization funded by membership dues and proceeds from the Library’s Used Book Sale Room. Monetary gifts from the organization to the library are used for books, materials, furnishings, events, and the Summer Adventure program. Memberships begin at $1. Our Book Sale Room has a variety of items at bargain prices and is located to the right of the main entrance in the library lobby. In addition to gently used materials, vintage and collectible books are also available. Purchases are made at the Information Desk. Donations in good condition are welcome anytime the library is open.
We’re looking for creative volunteers who enjoy arts and crafts to help build decorative displays for library events. Tasks may include cutting, painting, and assembling large backdrops. This opportunity is on an as-needed basis.
Outreach
Volunteers assist with a range of tasks, including preparing program materials, organizing books for outreach, and delivering items to home-bound patrons or local Little Libraries. This role supports
vital library services across the community.
Garden
Help care for the library’s Story time Garden by assisting with seasonal tasks such as spring preparation and fall cleanup. This volunteer role supports a welcoming outdoor space for children’s programs.
Donate to help enhance
library programs, events, and resources.

Gifts
Memorials offer a meaningful way to honor a loved one by supporting specific areas or items within the library. Honorariums celebrate special occasions—such as birthdays or retirements—often through the purchase of a book or works by a favorite author. All gifts are acknowledged with a card sent to the honoree or their family.
Send your gift details to: 301 S 4th Street, Pekin, IL 61554 or contribute through our secure e-pay site.
