Most addresses in Pekin and South Pekin already pay for their library card in the property tax bill (so no extra fee.)
Bring us a valid ID that shows:

If your current ID has an old address, bring another official item with your correct address (bank statement, utility bill, lease, paycheck stub, etc.) Parent/guardian ID is used for a child’s card; high school students can use their PCHS 303 ID.
All kids ages Birth-18 years are eligible for a FREE card
(with parent/guardian ID) if you pay taxes to District 303.

AUTHORIZE TEMPORARY CARD
Temporary cards are only valid for 30 days. Complete the renewal form to allow your child to continue to use their card.

Most cards expire after 3 years. Bring in your valid ID to renew your card.

Replace it for $1 with a valid ID

Your valid library card lets you take items home. Materials can be borrowed from/returned to most public, tax funded libraries in Central IL

HOLD tells us you want an item "next" when one is not available because it is checked out to another patron, or belongs to another library.

Visiting another area library? You can borrow items and return them here! Or place items on hold from other libraries and have them delivered to you here (NEW items are not sent through the delivery system.) Those items can be returned to any participating library as well.

Pre-Release Holds
Our catalog lists what has been received. However, some very popular authors are listed pre-release date (shown in the catalog in all caps) and can be used placed on holds via the normal holds process

Renew
If no one is waiting, your items can be renewed 2 times. Items renew for their checkout period. Most materials 3 weeks; DVDs, movies and magazines are 1 week.
Borrowed items may differ. We follow the lending library's checkout and renewal time limits

Login to your account. Enter your library card number and PIN.
Choose CHECKOUTS, then LIBRARY CHECKOUTS.
Check the box next to the item(s), and select RENEW.

Text SIGNUP to (309) 326-7110 to begin using Shoutbomb. You will be prompted for your library card number and PIN. Renew, hold and check your account via text!
Or call 309-347-7111 and we can renew for you when you give us your library card number
Renew in Person
You do not need to have materials with you to renew them. Just scan your card at the checkout station and touch the box beside your items. Press the RENEW button.
