For the ninth installment in the Pekin Public Library's U.S. Semiquincentennial history series, library historian Jared Olar will tell of the life and military service of Pvt. David Shipman (1765-1845), who settled in Elm Grove Township and is buried in Antioch Cemetery south of Tremont.
